Sharia is Un-American
The American way of life, and the foundation (and origins) of our system of government are incompatible with Sharia and the Islamic approach to governance. We're in a shooting war, as well as a culture war with Radical Islam. We're winning the shooting war, but we're losing the culture war because we won't stand up and defend our way of life.
I, for one, don't want to be forced to pray towards Mecca 4 times a day, and I would expect you don't either.

Sharia, otherwise known as Islamic Law (or the Islamic way of life), is much discussed these days. Several Islamic countries, like Iran and Saudi Arabia have codified Islamic Law as part of their governmental system. You know....hacking off hands, stoning women, letting husbands rape and kill their wives, etc. There is also a very strict code on how to behave, what to read, what to learn, and how to act....and it is all governed by the Islamic priesthood through religious courts and other official bodies. If you remember US History from High School (back when we actually taught classes like that!), do you remember why the Pilgrims first came here? It was to escape religious persecution by the English government and the Church of England.
And when our Constitution was written, freedom of religion was enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Even now, recent (some would say misguided) Supreme Court cases have attempted to drive residual "religion" from any form of governmental activity. And I'm sure we all remember how vehement the objections were to the "Moral Majority" and other religious groups who attempted to influence our politics during the 1980's. So why the silence now?
We are now confronted with an expanding Islamic way of life. Their aim is to make our government and culture subservient to Islam. Look at what happened in Europe last summer, and witness the recent riots because of a few cartoons. Those who support Radical Islam hate us, our way of life, and our freedoms.
Times are changing, and we will have to decide if our culture, and American way of life is worth defending. It's not enough to hope the problem goes away. Radial Islam will keep moving forward until we stop it.
